went to catch Cabaret with the boy yesterday. i loved it.
i loved the lights, i loved the singing, i loved the song. i love the way the stage was made up.

i kept picturing myself up on stage. i swear i cannot remember the last time i was on stage acting. it could be PJC time….dang, i never acted in SP before. that’s besides the point. i miss acting, and watching Emma Yong on stage it spurred me to want to run on it and sing like her!

cept the boy was with me [who was falling asleep i swear. =P] and i wouldnt want to scare the living daylights out of him.

plus the fact that we were sitting on the second level and i couldnt possibly jump off.

the stage actually sunk in. how awesome is that? though the sound the stage was making at this time was distracting.

i just had one slight problem. i felt the tune to all the songs were too close to each other, i could ony remember one prominent one and that was “welcome to the Cabaret” which Emma Yong pulled off vunderbar-ly. no such word, but these days, we’re starting to create our own ones anyways.

and afteR? we went to eat at Glutton’s Bay. i never knew this place existed!
it’s this ala-hawker style smacked right next to Esplanade! how awesome is tt?
cept it’s cleaner than most hawker centres, mainly cause it had a reputation to keep up since it’s under MakanSutra and the fact that it’s next to Esplanade.

but the food’s good. mainly cause i was hungry. very hungry actually.

because i am S’s. =)

watched POTC on tuesday. it was a disappointment.

i was edgy cause i was pretty irritated with Keira Knightly.
i dont know, is it just me? i thought she did a better job in the first one.

i felt too many scenes were useless and the show could have been cut by half an hour and still have the essence it, so people like me dont have to keep on fidgeting in my seat and make the boy chuckle in the theatre.

well, i mean you cant take my words too seriously cause i didnt even fancy the first one. [i AM NOT WEIRD.]

i just dont like it! funny yes. not amazing like how the boyfriend kept on emphasizing. i slept half way people. thats who disinterested i was.

i fell asleep during the second one. 10 minutes into the show. if the boy hadn’t peered over, i would have continued my blissfull sleep throughout the 2 and half hours movie.

show me Geisha anytime man. at least that made sense.

see, when it comes to me, i cant watch movies in theatre. [to the boyfriend, stop laughing. i CAN watch movie at home k.]

see, because of the absence of subtitles, i will get lost.
not like i dont understand. i do, but with subtitles, the oomph is just there you know?

so at the end of the EVERY show, all my questions will come out.

for the love of god, throughout the show, i had no idea who davy jones is. is that even the spelling of his name?

and i like to think.
when it comes to show like these, there’s really nothing to think about. you know? like it’s all THERE on the screen. no issues to ponder over.

no instances where you go…” oh…..THAT was why that happened on the screen.”

you know? im weird. yes.

yah, i do like shows where you dont have to think. perhaps tuesday just wasnt the day.
or maybe i just dont like POTC!

i really should be finishing up on LAW before melis comes over to get down and dirty on MMR.

ive been sleeping at 4, and getting so tired during the afternoons.

i cant help it really, i produce more at night.

explains my cyclical attendence for all my morning classes.

in light of Cabaret,

Au Revoir.

PS: to my darling boyfriend, thank you for the tickets. [though i remembered clearly i offered to pay ONE. hahaha. but you love me. i know. =DD]

July 23, 2006

yes? what are you staring at? that IS a head-scarf. sheesh.

the weekend’s been real busy with so many other things except studying. -.-
bah. we had the kenduri today at mummy’s shop.

had to wake up real morning to help out at the store.

it was a marathon. it went on and on and on for 2 hours plus. i was dying out of hunger.

food…glorious food. =D

just got back and im already so knackered.

you know, these past few days it got me thinking.
is it fair for you to date someone that you know won’t last? be it cause of religious reasons, or cause one of you has to leave the country..the possibilities are endless…

i mean you are hampering his/her chance to find someone else out there whom he/she can spend the rest of his life with.

but you really do like him/her. then you’re stuck in a dilemma.

how far are you willing to go for the sake of love.
how much are you willing to put up for the sake of love.
how low are you willing to go to please your partner. [those of you having dirty thoughts, just leave.]
what is enough?

why do some people put up with so much only to get back a quarter of what they put in.
when do you garner the courage in you to stand up and walk away?

and why am i suddenly thinking so much?
cause ive been talking to several people and listening to their problems. [my boyfriend and i are fine thank you very much.]

i personally find love very daunting. =S
it’s so fragile, it needs constant attention.
there are so many rules to apply. [those who say they do not know the rules are destined to have a failed relationship.]

in a relationship, i swear miscommunication is the root of all evil. [by experience. hiak hiak hiak.]

and i think the ONE thing that prevails in a healthy relationship is patience. [plus understanding, care, sensitivity, concern, support, involvement, affection,.....]

i told you love is daunting.

July 22, 2006

the day started with me shuffling myself between bukit batok and bukit panjang for tuition classes thaat ended late cause my sec 1 tutee wanted to stop having classes.

had a talk with the mother who said she cant cope with school work and blah blah blah.

and to think she just got back her latest test paper which she got 19/20.
the fact that she has been failing the whole year, makes me feel so proud that she managed to attain such results. [of course with divine intervention. hiak hiak hiak. ;) ]

that aside, so i got richer with both tuition kids paying me money. =DDD

stocked up the car with all the picnic stuff, lemon barley, green tea, chips, sweets…the list goes on. you name it, we had it.

picked the girls up from clementi and off we went, into the labryinth called Orchard Road.

what’s lydia driving without getting lost. hahahaha.

ishen had to fish out the directory map and throw it on shahidah’s lap. [should you get lost, the last person you want to be next to you reading a map is her. =)]

hehehehe. she took so slow to figure out where we are.

typical conversation:

“sha, im at XXX street, where do i go?”
“err…. ok… is DDD building on your left or right?”
*traffic light turns red*
“ok.. DDD building is on my left”
*turns the book around.*
“ohkkaaaay…. you go straight.”
“errr..shahidah, i can only go left.”
“NO! from the map it says you go straight! can! you look! *points animatedly* go straight!!! it leads you to fort canning road!”
*shen laughs out loudly at the back seat, recording the scene on my cammie*
“oh my god, shahidah! look at the markings on the road! only left turn arrows!”
*traffic light turns green*
“go straight lydia! go! can!”
“SHA!!! LOOK AT THE ROAD!!!! LEFT ARROWS!!! AHHHH!!!! IM TURNING LEFT!! IM TURNING LEFT!”
“AHHHHH!!!”
“AHHHHHH!!!”

get the drift?

then, i had to call my breathing GPS system. the boyfriend. who kindly guided me to fort canning.

we took like 45 minutes to get there, when you can in like say 25. -.-
the downside of driving. from suntec, dont even know how to get to PS. but when you’re walking, take mrt lah, drop at dhoby gaut. sheesh.

just look at our picnic basket. dont you just think it’s savvy? hehehe. so glad mum bought it in australia. so chic yet so bloody cheap. =)

it was a warm warm day i tell you.

the kiddies were so amazingly adorable. so many were dressepd up as ballet dancers, prancing around barefooted on the grass. lovely… just lovely… =)

while people around us were eating cheese and bread and wine, we went local with chwee kueh and sushi. he he he he. of course, who can forget shen’s mother who kindly made for us vegetarian otah and fishballs plus burgers which were heavenly and taste like the original!

we had fun. i had fun. i had lotsa fun. so many people tonight. it was good.

yesterday was good cause it was quieter, perfect for couples to laze around under the stars.

today was a good day for group to hang and kids to step all over our beautiful picnic mats.

for more pics, go here!

Ballet Under The Stars.

after the debacle [eventhough it ended up to be a one-sided war.], it came to this.

The boy and the cherries he bought at 11 bucks. siao.

i like fort canning hill. =))

would love to say more but i cant cause im going again with the girls tmr, and i wouldnt dream of spoiling the fun for them. all virgin visits except melis and myself. hahaha.

im sure they’ll enjoy themselves.

as for now, let the photos do the talking. =)

thank you for putting up with me.

July 19, 2006

waaaah…. i finally wakeboarded after resting for 2 weeks. i nearly died.

been so busy with the the projects and the competition that i cldnt wakeboard nor play tennis.
no sports for 2 weeks. holy kemolly.

today’s partner was Darren!!!!!! hehehe.
havent met this boy for so long lah, since last october during the poly forum. he was one of the DreamCatcher, we acted infront of all the freaking Mps on the hugggeee stagggeee in front of cameras from Channel News Asia and MediaCorp. how cool is that? =)

very witty boy. i like. =)

and he manages to stand! first attempt. power boy. hee.

it rained slightly though, so it was cold on the boat. other than that everything was hunky dory.

the boy was kind enough to pick me up, on top of which he had to wait patiently for 4o minutes cause i was late. see, boyfriends like these make your day.

went back to azalea, bathed, changed and slept. suppose to get the tickets for this friday but i was too darn tired.

we grabbed fries from the drive thru later on and home sweet home it is for me….[with aching legs and arms]

and now im inducing myself with episodes from whose line is it anyways. ahhh…addictive.

i also want to jump like andy.

today, i did one extremely good jump and 6 jumps that got me a thumbs up sign from andy. =)
if andy can do those stunts above, i dont see why i cant. give me 6 more months, ill do it. =)))

July 18, 2006

The three girls and i skipped dreaded FW and left for town.

we went to Fc3 for lunchie today. hehehe. very cheap. we got the view, we had the fresh air.[and shen had the mozzies.]

i bought shoes!!! =D wedges to be exact. i swear sistic outlets should be disseminated ALL ROUND singapore. so people like us dont have to walk 3000 miles to get tickets for Ballet Under The Stars. -.-

but yes, melis has so kindly offered to buy for us. =)

the hamster cum camera whore.

and dont buy chwee kueh from Marina Square because they suck. [shen is an expert in this, according to her, the top spot goes to Clementi Food Centre and second goes to SP.]

why dont you make it convenient for us, just go lock yourself up in your treasure chest then throw the key far far away. =)

“Good Afternoon Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development, Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC and Adviser to Tampines Grassroots Organisations, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the Tampines East Emergency Preparedness Day 2006….”

Mr Mah Bow Tan. hmmmm…

i was dead beat yesterday. programme was from 1 to 6 plus. it was crazy. my legs were about to give way and the heat was just too much.

worse, i got lost, drove and drove and drove, landed myself at changi airport. WAH….

then turn back…. and took 20 minutes to find st 21 eventhough i was already at st 22.
who designed tampines? i may want to have a word with him. why is st 21 and 22 poles apart??? -.-

but i shook Mr Mah’s hands. hahaha. not everyday you get to do that k. sheesh.

thanks to the boy he came down and converted himself to be a photographer for the day.

July 15, 2006

it was down to 6.

this time, i screwed up for my prepared but amazingly had things to say for my impromptu speech! hehehe.

thanks for everybody’s support [you know who you are].
special thanks to mum and rayyan for turning up today. =))
and to my darling boyfriend who came down despite just landing an hour ago. love love.

screw Fun With English. [yes, i am STILL bitter about it.]
i have substance.
i got the third placing in PESA. [Plain English Speaking Awards] =)

congrats to Geiron for clinching the second placing and Anish from RI for getting the top spot.
to the rest, a good job done. cheers~! [and to me for getting third. hiak hiak hiak.]

and Mr Rajan? thank you, for that extremely encouraging message. =)

and lastly, how can i not thank the woman who made this possible.
dearest, Doc Eve, thank you so very much for giving me this opportunity, allowing me to embrace this honourable event and absorbing the various experiences throughout the competition. thank you so very much. =)

and after? we had dinner with the boy’s sister. went over to her place first.
i dont know whether it’s just me, but i swear her house looks prettier today.
i like her place lah. very very nicely done.

the handsome french-malay boy who will grow up and break all the girls’ hearts.

the Peter Rabbit’s chocies the boy and i bought for him. he ate 4 at one go. who eats chocs at such a fast rate?

and then off we went to Banana Leaf restaurant to have fish head curry.

i am so bloated. i have so many things to do. my Om is going nowhere.
i have to prepare my speech for monday, edit the OM report, start thinking about FW, mark my student’s homework before 9 am tmr and go for to tampines [thank heavens the car will be with me, cause i cannot foresee myself taking the train all the way to the east.] tmr to grace an event as the emcee. ahhhh…..

i can foresee myself collapsing before monday. god save me.

oh oh… hehehe. the boy got tired of listening to me whine about wanting to have my own digital camera. so….. he got me one today after PESA. ha ha ha ha.

i have a new digi cam. my VERY own.

how awesome is that? =)
