Midnight on Friday, the best friend was complaining about his empty tummy.
Adam even drew a picture of prata and tehpeng and sent it via msn to me.

so being a nice friend that i am, i drove out at 1 in the morning to pick him and went for supper at Bukit Timah.

that bugger didnt even eat prata. -.- [had some odd prata lookalike.]

We had prata pizza, which i personally do not fancy, we had chicken tikka masala and garlic naan.
Well, he did have his teh peng and i had bandung. dont know why these days got craving for bandung.

at 4, i cldnt open my eyes. bah.

conversation with mum:
“you drove out ah last night.?”
“yah. your godson was hungry at 1 in the morning.”
“never tell me.”
“you were sleeping what. i wrote a note.”
“i was sleeping! how to read.”
“exactly. bottom line is you were sleeping. how to tell you.”
“no wonder the car not at the original place. at 2 in the morning i heard car you know.”
“how can that be!. siao.” [ we're on the 14th floor. -.-]

Caught a midnight on saturday. wah, at least i studied the whole of saturday. so im proud. heh.

conversation with mum:
“ma, going out for midnight.”
“with who?”
“with sham lah.”
“ysdty, go out for supper, today go out for midnight. no need study ah?”
“i studied whole day already what. i need a break. besides, who studies at 2 in the morning right.”
“i cooked fried fish noodle soup. go eat. oh, and your starbucks friends all came to the shop last week to eat you know. i gave them discounts.”

we caught pan’s labryinth at Vivo. [thanks yanty for the free Boost! heh. love love. and dont yell at me across the yard next time lah. =P]
Man.
it’s stupid.
Kin if you’re reading this, thanks eh. =P
you say very nice!

the ending. my god.
the flow of the movie.
it’s so odd.
i didnt like it.

and sham kept laughing cause i picked the show.
halfway into the show close to 2, i was nudging sham to leave the theatre. terrible.

got home close to 5 and got awoken at 10.
my mother is my mother.

To her, be it saturday or sunday, bottom line is, you jolly wake up by 10.
she doesnt really care whether you slept at 6 in the morning or 4 or 3, you wake up by 10.

sometimes i feel like strangling her.
but it’s good don’t you think?

start your day early.
though i admit, i curse under my breath when she opens up my door and demands i get out of bed. discipline people. discipline.

Ikea Tampines is in a mess.
we went there for a while today.
i dont like it.
no doubt it’s big but it feels so huge that the essence of homeliness is missing.
Nothing much has changed.
I like the bowls and plates though, i shall go buy them one of these days.

Meet BARNSLIG the elephant which we got and much to the horror of the bf, im demanding it stays in the car. ha ha ha ha.

Food Review! =))))))

Hokkien Mee, Oyster Omelette and Carrot Cake @ Bedok Food Centre.

Hokkien mee’s tasty. Again, no surprise, they used flat yellow noodles and bee hoon.
Why oh why.
Pls ok, hokkien mee uses yellow mee and laksa noodles. -.-
With that said however, it is rather tasty, much to our surprise. =)
seadfood’s not as fresh as i would like it to be.
but overall, it’s pleasant.

Overall: 6.8/10 [why .8? because who says the degree of difference can only be a .5?]

Oyster omelette’s rather oily.
I like the crispy texture and the mushy parts. It was a good mix.
Unlike the ones you get at Banquet, cause they are just like uncooked pancake, very squishy all over and hardly any oysters.
Not like i eat oysters but you’re paying for the oysters what.
It’s tasty really just a tad too oily for my liking.
Once it gets cold, then i get jelak.

Overall: 8.3/10

Black carrot cake!!
WAH!. i like. =)
The oyster omelette and the carrot cake both prepared by the chinese, naturally, they are more tasty. more authentic.
I love it.
I like the fact that the carrot cake comes in big chunks, unlike at other places where the cake comes in tiny pathetic pieces that looks mushy on the whole. the carrot cake’s also not too soft, so it requires abit oh chewing.
I also like the fact that the paste is just nice.
Not too saltish, not too bland, just nice, so much so that i got to taste the carrot cake.
Other carrot cakes that i’ve tasted had too much black sauce that it shrouded the taste of the carrot cake and after a while, ill feel like im eating black sauce paste.
but this is just nice. Plus point, it has garlic bits all over and i ADORE garlic. so yay to that. =)

Overall: 9.4/10. [why got missing .6? the presentation. there was a piece of banana leaf on the plate, and the carrot cake was not centralised. Part of it was out at the corner. hahahahaha. =P]

my dad just got back from another business trip. hello dad! a shoutout since he’s so nice to get a whole yr’s supply of lens for me and a pack of printing paper. =) love love.

January 26, 2007

the boy ended up on the floor much of the time. ;P

Seee, he was all ready to blade, geared up and all with his swanky new shades and pads.

See, the boy went out with full force, eventhough he didnt know how to blade, he just went right out and fell down so many times.

Im a lousy teacher cause i spent 3/4 of the time laughing and prolly making him fall as well cause i cldnt stop myself from laughing.

The view he saw from down there. =P more planes, me and more planes!

But i love him lah.
looking at his determination was gratifying. =)

and he did improved k.
he managed to move forward and bladed without me assissting him.
fell down also picked himself up and tried again.

This uncle stopped us and made us take pictures with his catch.
5 HUGE fish!
amazing. ive never seen anyone caught fish those big before.

i took videos, because i havent laughed so hard before.
We had so much fun and i cldnt stop laughing.
Well, the both of us cldnt stop laughing.

He was laughing cause i was such a lousy teacher.
and i was laughing cause several times, he kept blading on the same spot and kept chanting under his breath, “move forward, move forward, move forward.”

And we both laughed cause we looked like some kukus, both supporting each other, trying to blade forward without falling on each other.

hahahah!! =PPPP

that was yesterday’s affair.

today? i actually sorted out my AM notes. =P
it’s a start ok.

had dinner later on.

Ang moh lady who speaks in a very animated way with her piercing green eyes that got me startled several times.

Went to borders to hunt for herman’s book but cldnt find it. sorry bro, will find it in time to come.

We ate at newton and listened to her talk about melbourne.
fun ah… listen to ppl talk about their vaction trips.
bah.
wait until my diving trip, ill post up endless of pictures.

Food wasnt exactly nice.

wanted to catch midnight move at Cineleisure, but only left newton at 1240.

Then , wanted to watch dvd at my place.
But the boy too tired.

Things ppl do at 2 in the morning.
i shall go watch the video and have a good laugh before i head to bed.

good night readers! =)

January 24, 2007

The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind. i think everything happened so fast it was insane.
i remembered telling the girls 2 weeks will come by so quickly and before you know it exams will be here.

After the event, i swear we all can become labourers, excelling in stacking up tables and chairs and then de-stacking it at twice the pace. ;)

Of course, all those with fear of heights can say it’s history now, mounting up on tables hanging those signs. Listening to teeny-boppy songs that got be pretty startled.

And who can forget the countless of subways and pearl teas.
Those trips to clementi and trying out shen’s favourtie drink. heh.
i think it’s becoming a fast favourtie for me. ;)
and thanks to shahidah who dutifully got subways for most of us.
and dear ol silly me who dragged a water pillow from clementi all the way to school, cursing undear my breath every inch of the way.

Melissa is bisexual. i swear she is.
she likes to call me sayang.
but only on text msgs. muahaahahaha!

in the open, she pretends to be so mean to me. sheesh.
she will roll her eyes at random manners and curse me with her eyes when i start singing off-tuned.

but after she’s hiding safely behind her little silver phone, she starts labelling me her sayang and speaks in that girlish flirtish tone. i swear she has a crush on me.

that woman got pretty desperate cause she had a group of ppl who wasn’t interested in meddling with her machine. =P

and subsequently got pissed at certain individuals who in fact pissed sha, shen and myself as well. so you’re not alone.

Shahidah aims to stand infront of every single camera lens on this entire island.

Alot of revelations on tt day that got ALOT of us wide-eyed in shock.
But really, let’s not go there.
because i would end up typing a 2 length entry and never get out of the house.

Special thanks to shahidah who designed the bags and mae my fingers sore, carefully cutting out the template and pasting on the decals, ending up with nice-looking bags made with love- i wouldnt mind parading around town in.

Thanks to cousinlove who came down to support his cousinlove.
hahahaha. i know he was bored. believe me, i wasn’t tt estatic as well. hahaha. ;P

Dawn, for the card souvenirs thingy.
it’s nice. i like it.

And of course to the 4 secondary school students who came for our event.
We hope it had been informative.

And to the rest? you guys can go join a theatre group.

Our group loves to leave things at the last minute. But you see, that’s us.
I think our group enjoys getting ourselves all panicky and insane and then getting ready to claw out each other’s eyes.

sometimes, we end up laughing cause we can start work 2 weeks behind schedule and still produce pretty good shit with fun and bubble tea added.

see, work isn’t really just about the physical work, i strongly believe that it must be paired up with a little something else.

You can get a group with smart people [pretending to like each other] who are studious and begin week on the first day of the project but still end up with the same standard or maybe sllliiiiggghhhtttlllyyy better grades.[ when i say slight i mean a 1 mark, 2 marks difference.]
but at what cost?

i used to think that it’s all about grades but come to think of it again, this past 2 yrs in poly made me realised something else.
The grades look nice, believe me, i wouldnt mind getting distinctions all over my score sheet but getting a ‘C’ or ‘D’ doesnt make you any less intelligent.
Believe me.

Again i say, it’s the process that makes someone who they are and not the end product.
With that said however, coupled with the grades, you make a mighty fine student with added incentives.

then again, i enjoy life and prolly wouldnt want to spoil my adolescent years, cramping my head with communication channels and finance ratios all the time.
It’s a balance.

hell, the ladies and i have schedule a steamboat session right after we got our exams time-table.
we were pencilling the date in our pretty organisers and had a good laugh over it.

But it’s over, mistakes have been made, claws have been out, let’s forge on and embrace the third year. man…. i swear the girls must be wondering what ive consumed.

sham picked me up after and we went to Sentosa Cove where the rich and famous resides.

ignore the boy and the crane, focus on the awesome background with ‘floating’ water body.

had pizza, sushi, soft drinks and chips on board the pretty sailing boat.

First time ever i know of someone [mig, the guy who taught me how to shoot the other time] who lives on a boat.
i would prolly kill sham and throw him overboard if i stay on that boat for more than a week.

No doubt it’s romantic with the sea breeze you get 24/7 and the fresh air but god, i cant.
i prolly need a lifetime supply of sea-sick pills and kill the next person who brings me a can of tuna.

if i want to have a dinner party, i can only bring 7 people.
and i’d have to tell them not to wear skirts cause you’d end up exposing yourselves to the whole wide world as you get on board. [cause it happened to me and i had to take 2 minutes to figure out how to get on with as much lady-like instincts that's left inside of me]

get the picture?
no way.

a nice place to have over the weekend kind of thing. 1 day 2 days. but live in there?
noooo waaaaay.

well, then again, vivo city is like a step away. heh.

But the place is nice, as in overall, i think ive mentioned it once,i love the wooden planks thingy that leads you to the boat.
a different setting for dinner. =)

and now we can start studying for the exams, of course, going blading first for a couple of hours won’t kill. ;)

Post Script:
I hate chalets.
I think im funny.
Everyone has their own set of humour.
And i Don’t know you. =)

January 23, 2007

Preparation for the party started at 11 in the morning.
Drove to the supermarket to fuss over lobsters and squealing at each other cause they were squirming in the basket.

Rayyan and sassy helped out cut the vegetables and stuff. =)
very nice to do things together with your siblings on a sunday afternoon.

rayyan helped with butterring up the pan and rubbing sugar on the pumpkins before popping them in the oven.

FEAST. =))

we had

  • Lobster Head Soup
  • Baked Lobster with white cream sauce and oregano/rosemary leaves
  • Lobster with garlic and black pepper sauce
  • Roast beef
  • Roast pumpkins (I LIKE!!!!! =D especially when i sprinkle salt all over it.)
  • Pan-grilled Stingray
  • Mixed Vegetables
  • Chawamushi (i made.. =))
  • Ben&jerry’s cookie dough (thanks fi!)

Super proud of myself.
i actually made chawamushi!
i saw it in the cookbook and decided to do it.
ahhhh!!!!
just draining cause you have to make the dashi stock and actually sieve the egg mixture so that it becomes real smooth and creamy once you steam it.

i just need to remember not to place it directly under the air conditioner system cause it cooled so fast and it tasted eeky.

But for a first timer, i think i pretty much nailed it.
MUM agreed and fi thinks it’s nice. even herman said it’s nice. =)
Sham doesnt fancy chawamushi so he only gave me an “ummmm…. *smiles*” -.-

See, i dont know why being a guy automatically gives you the liberty to laze in front of the telly, watching a dvd while all the girls are slaving in the kitchen. -.-

Thanks mum for making the lobster party happen!
and everyone else for your presence.
and the boy, count yourself lucky k, land from flight straight away got hot dinner. ha ha ha ha ha. =P

January 21, 2007

The girls were about to collapse on the floor during EOF last friday cause i was running late. =P
shen and shahidah couldn’t stop calling me and all the cabs on the island decided to avoid bukit panjang.

BUT, i came in one piece and half an hour late much to the amusement of the girls and Mr Chin.

Later on, i had a near-trauma experience staring at ghastly apparels. The girls and i couldnt stop laughing at the hilarious combination and horrific get-up.

It was plain horror.
It is the latest trend to hang your thumb-drive around your neck these days i tell you.
I think i shall tell the girls. or phoebe! since she lost hers a week back.
god.
i laughed so hard i had stitches.

It was a white-themed day since it’s the last day of school.
The night before we were discussing about school food. it’s the last chance to satisfy all cravings before school reopens again in 10 weeks time.

I had my orange fillet, which really i can get from NTUC.

When people copy what you do, be proud cause it means they do not have a mind of their own and that you’re worthy enough to be looked upon. or should i say idolised. ha ha ha ha ha. =)

Sham picked me up from school and went home with 2 lobsters.

Pretty pretty lobsters. =)
I have never seen a turqoise looking lobster before and i think it looks too pretty to eat.

No one was home so we cldnt show off the pretty crustaceans.
Dad got home from work though, saw the lobsters sham got and wanted to eat Lobster Sashimi.
paraded in his cheap shoes that got him all excited. =P

Then sham and i left to catch a midnight at Great World.
Apocalypto.

I like it.
A tad too gory cause there were certain scenes that got me feeling puke-ish.
But the show was engaging thruought.
So well-done Mel Gibson.

and since sham’s mummy too busy to cook the lobster, he requested mum to do so.
Hahaha.

And tonight? we’re having LOTS of lobster cause sassy and i just drove to the supermarket to get 2 more, invited herman and aunt to come over.

Mum has her cookbooks all spread out to figure out how to cook 4 lobsters in 4 different ways for the boy. =P

lobster party before my finance paper. i think im the best. ;)

January 19, 2007

TVSM is finally over. than kheavens.

i got a nice surprise when the CA results were out.
Ca2 marks look very pretty on the paper. =P
i swear sometimes, im lucky. god.
but i needed that grade pretty badly.

went to holland to meet mazzy and did some retail therapy. =)

Went to NYDC for lunch. had the tuna sandwich which was ok for the first 10 minutes but after i was stuffing myself with the fries, i bit into the sandwich and realise it’s not longer warm so i got jelak after a while.

My lemon shiver was really good though. Lemon sherbet in lemonade. pretty awesome.
Had the Elmer’s Fudge but Big-O’s G-spot is still tops for me.
i hate it when the sprinkle choc chips over the choc cake, it just kills the texture of the warm cake.

10mth old kitten having it all, living in an air-conditioned shop at holland.

when i grow up one day and have my own place, im going to get a big fat cat and name it flora.
It’s going to be fat, lazy and will only curl up by the window still all day.
I will pat and poke flora and she will not give 2 hoots to me.
my other half and i will fight and yell at each other over the filthy dishes and flora will sit silently, looking at us with her lazy eyes, swishing her tail from left to right, wondering why these idiots are wasting energy on each other like that.

then im going to call Adam who would prolly be in Canada by then, and ask him to bring his cats to Singapore and we will have a cat-get-together.

if there’s one reason why i want my own place, it’s because i want to have a cat.
My silly sister has sinus and she will sneeze till there’s no tmr cause of the fur.
I pity her lah actually.
we used to have cats last time but.
Mine was called chut-chut, super mischevious and she likes licking my leg.
Then my sister’s was called called Kitty. wow. =P
and that stupid cat kept running behind our dvd system, stepping on all our cds and then refusing to come out of that stupid nook. -.-
then my sister will go there and entice her with a plate of tuna.
Kitty is a silly cat, several times, she jumped off our balcony.

“how what…”
“i have a live lobster in my boot”
“wahhahahaha!!!”
“how to keep…”
“put in the freezer when you get home later”
“but it will die.”

“why you funny? im the funny one. im the one with the live lobster in my boot.”
“true. is it in a box?”
“no, they wrap the guy in newspapers.”

i tell you. this is by far the most hilarious phonecall ever made to me.
the lobster survived the plane journey from medan to singapore.
i am going to find out how long lobsters can survive in the open.

January 18, 2007

SEADFOOOOODDDDDDDD…… =))))
crabs, more crabs, chinese spinach, kangkong, salted fish fried rice, shrimp fried rice, yu tiao, cuttlefish, jellyfish, steamed fish and steamed prawns. waaaahhhhh….

heh. it was nice having dinner after sometime since im so caught up with school and stuff.
sharing dessert with my dad’s something id like to remember. =)

dinner was with aunty imah, danie, herwin, adam, jasmine, fi, sassy and family. nice nice.

drove to town after dinner with win and danie to meet up with kin and haikal.

for the record, i think she’s pretty and has very nice skin.
im envious. blah.

have a safe flight tmr herwin, see you again in june! =)
and danie, ppl stopped sleeping at 11 at night years ago. =P

and im a safe driver k.
i swear kin, haikal, win and danie are traumatised right now cause i nearly scratched a car next to me.
but i swear tt idiot was cutting into my lane.

i need people’s cooperation on the road also you know. sheesh.

im tired. and i cannot wait for saturday.

good night readers.

January 17, 2007

A student will spiral out of control if she has to stay in school till 8 in the evening.

ps: i think it’s atrocious what happened earlier. i find it offensive that you pretended to be nonchalant. [for your sake, i hope you were pretending] With that said, many of us weren’t too surprised with your set of reactions. But i just have to note how repulsive i think it is.

pss: seafffoooodddddd dinner tmr! it’s been a while since i got to spend time with the family for a proper sit-down dinner. =)

Food Review Part 2:

Lebanese Rotiserrie Chicken and Nasi Goreng Paprik@ Spize Supper Club/Mediterranean Grill
336 Bedok Road

Chicken meat is tough. I dont like the fact that it is not on a hot plate so it gets cold pretty quickly. The mashed potato is unsurprisingly cold. There are 2 sauces on it. One is the brown sauce and the other is a tangy tomato based sauce placed at the side which got me pretty startled cause the 2 sauces dont exactly gel. The broccoli’s hard and felt uncooked. i got muak-ed towards the end.

Overall: 5.5/10

The beef is tasty and is not tough to chew. The rice however, doesn’t have that extra punch. Yellow rice should have the taste of ginger and lemongrass in it. But i could barely taste the lemongrass. With that said, it’s good that the meat is tasty enough to pair with the rice.

Overall: 7/10

hehehe…. moving on to other reviews.

Have heard raves about the new eye cream from Clinique but havent got the chance to go out and buy it since it has a pretty nice price tag attached to it and i spent quite abit last week on things that really needed attention.

But, i got a surprise in my bank account 2 days ago.
Thank you Child Aid for the pretty sum. ;)

so, i decided to be nice to myself…

60 bucks worth of vitamins.

The boy was shocked at the exorbitant price of that tiny bottle.
Me too lah.
Extremely tiny.
But i consulted mum and she told me this is the market rate.
And my dark circles are getting pretty obvious with sham calling me panda nowadays.
We’ll see how effective the eye cream is.

Herwin is here from aussie. =)
and so is Danie but i havent heard from him and i feel rather guilty for not having called him.
I will do so in time to come.

We ate alot.

  • Kangkong Belacan
  • Egg tofu with mushroom
  • Crayfish with black pepper
  • Seafood TomYam Soup
  • Prawn Omelette
  • Bbq Stingray
  • Fried Baby Squid

The dishes were rather tasty.
Im impressed with Spize.

They deal with so many different types of cuisine.
From western, to mediterreanean to local to seafood to chinese and they are all tasty.

A job well done this eatery.

Mr Herwin Bunting got a culture shock when he went to Zouk and MoS the past 2 days.
He said he went clubbing in Melbourne during new year’s eve and it wasn’t even that packed.

heh. =)

I am bloated and my eyes feel surprisingly radiant now. haha. =P

Food Review:

Hokkien Mee and Bullet Steak@ Spize Supper Club/Mediterranean Grill
336 Bedok Road

hmmm, the taste is not rich enough.
Not sure of the stock they use but i certainly know it’s not cuttlefish or prawn heads stock cause that is what my mum uses at her shop.

There’s not enough pepper taste in it.
I have one thing that pricks me.
Not like it is a major thing lah but hokkien mee is cooked with yellow and laksa noodles but alot of places cook it with mee hoon instead. heh.

overall : 7.5/10

go Nusantara@171 Telok Ayer Street to taste awesome Hokkien Mee. =)
i shall do a review there one there. i’ve done alot of tasting there, but i’ll go and snap pictures of the mouth-watering dishes just for you readers out there. ;)

I have eaten this dish countless of times and not once has it failed on me.

I love the copious amount of pepper on top.
and it’s not just any pepper. It’s the green and red corn peppers, grinded and then roasted lightly. so it has that ‘wet’ taste, with the pepper taste oozing out.

And this is the only place by far, other than the San Fancisco Steakhouse in Kuala Lumpur, that gives me medium rare steak when i ask for medium rare.

i like my steak when it is cooked outside and pretty raw in the inside, with traces of blood oozing out. =)

This steak is a must-try.
I think for its price, it is value-for-money because it gives you 2 scoops of mashed potato plus vegetables serving on the side.
Add 2 bucks and you get a bowl of AUTHENTIC mushroom soup and salad.

Mushroom Soup at most places is straight right out of Campbell’s tin but the soup here is brimming with chopped mushrooms.

One prick i have? the mashed potato is not hot hot, it’s just warm, sometimes not even warm.

Overall rating: 9.5/10

g-spot@ Big-O
Millenia Walk, Suntec City and Wheelock Place.

For $5.95, this slice of cake pretty much hits the spot.

it is served warm, actually, i dont call it warm, i call it piping hot. and i love it.
The chocolate layers in the middle melts.

I am not a chocolate lover, well, not too much at least since it gives me a migrane but g-spot is orgasmic.

The cake is rich in flavour but it’s not muak.

You know? Alot of chocolate cakes gives you that i-dont-want-to-eat-anymore taste after 4 spoonfulls?

Well, thankfully, g-spot is not.

It’s rich in flavour yet fluffy.
So you can help yourself to more than 1 slice and still enjoy the great taste without experiencing the muak feeling.

Overall rating: 9/10

If you have the chance, read today’s TODAY page 38.
A reader wrote a letter entitled,

” JC vice-principal called poly a ’stupid decision”

Let me quote Vivienne Lim,

“…he allegedly called them a ‘bad choice’ and a ’stupid decision’, adding that ‘any fool can make it in poly’. He also likened students who forgo the first three months of JC to delinquents who ‘don’t study, don’t listen in class and skip school’.

This is biased and unjustified. I thought the stereotype of a polytechnice
education being inferior to a JC one was history, a view largely confined to OLDER GENERATION who favour the more conventional route to university. I certainly did not think that an educator- and a JC vice-principal at that-would still hold such views…….

…….Is such an attitude befitting a leader in education?”
