Doesn’t it give you a nice warm feeling when you see friends around you grow up and move on to a new phase in life? The conversations you have, about the future, about goals and milestones, family and friends……:)

Some people stray, even i do sometimes but it is very important to get back on tracks. More so when people around you are trying to help. The only person who is capable of straightening yourself is you.

It’s nice to have a get together as such. Issues that are solvable, topics that are worth discussing, statements that make you stop and think.

Or course it was rather hilarious when IJ and i walked into the ladies only to see a guy holding his crotch. The two of us stopped dead, looked at each other and stared some more before running to the nearest exit to burst out laughing.

We relived our heydays and ate the chocolate cake at Bakerzin. super super nice. must go try! :)

We made our way to oogle at the contruction worker. two thumbs up still. ke ke ke ke ke.

ZB has a lot of opinions which is good and he has a very strong character which is equally good and he has his own set of values that he doesn’t plan to change anytime soon. Although i would rather add another 60 bucks to get a Polo top rather than that slightly shocking colour of a Nike windbreaker. ;)

Thanks for the ride and for walking me up to make sure i don’t encounter with any small black boys. The two of you aruging is still replaying in my PLH. :P

Housewarming party. hahaha. after seeing the state of the house yesterday. i think im shelving it after your last paper.

I told you IJ. bubbles grow bigger so that someone can prick it. in.your.face.

I am going to pamper myself. spa appointment. thanks for the treat you.

i received an e-mail from my dad this morning.

“True love is neither physical nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be. The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have. Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.”

:) i love you dad.

Furnitures, furnitures and more furnitures.

can’t believe K1 bought the french dining set for $3000. i saw it the first time and told S i loved it. Extremely unique. Now i can go to her house and touch the furniture and pepper it with envy. so prrreeetttyyyy. :)

Actually come to think about it again, when i saw that house’s decor, English-country decor is really quite pretty and cosy. Well, i think it could go both ways, too elegant and queeny-y or the cosy kind with drapes on the sofas and flowers/fruits white knobs on 8-level chests.

big house need to maintain. now i’m thinking whether should use the red cloth for the curtains. K1 did make a point. but it’s freeeeeeee…… :(

shall go consult mum. see what she says. poles have been purchased. i cannot wait to use the new kitchen stoves. :D

we got the shelves for the kitchen today. I cannot wait to put my cookbooks! I bought one more today, on tomatoes. Wah, everyone should get a cookbook on Tomatoes and Potatoes. i have it and i cannot stop reading it. I want to try everything on it.

I shall come up with a birthday list.

  1. i want a pasta maker.
  2. A bread maker. (AA mum bought me the bread cookbook. i need to make her proud. heheheh.)
  3. Ice Cream maker. (Con told me SS bought for her and she can make everything. wah! imagine tt.)
  4. LeCreuset pots and pans!!!! (Cherry Red. i love enamel coating pots. Cast Iron kitchen appliances look very sexy. :( i wantttttttt. everything! the stockpots, the saucier, the oval french pot, the square dish, the rectangular dish,t he oval dish, the skillet, the grill pan, the round casserole. gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. My theory? If you plan to make sexy food, might as well use sexy kitchen appliances.)
  5. Rice mill (to make potato creamy soup)
  6. Food Processor (I do not like my current one. I want the dry and wet one.)
  7. Smoothie blender (mum bought for me one but she accidentally put herbs in it, so now my smoothies constantly have the herb taste.)
  8. Cake Mixer (Current one is ollllddddd, some of the newer functions are unavailable.)
  9. Financier’s tray! (still cannot find! I’m so tempted to order it online.)
  10. Griller plate (imagine endless nights of no fuss cooking, plug it in, throw in meat, vegies, spices, salt, paprika. fooooosh. can even do on the roof and dine under the stars.)
  11. A whole set of wooden spoons and ladles (i prefer using wooden ladles to cook, if i use the plastic, im paranoid that the plastic will melt into my food, if i use stainless steel, it will scrap off the layer on my pots/pans for and anti-stick.)

i shall go think of some more stuff to add in the kitchen and to my birthday list. sighhhh. Wants are dangerous. :(

Amidst the furniture hunting and getting screamed at over the phone few minutes before work ended on Friday, i managed to upload all the pictures on the comp. Aren’t you proud AA. :P

I just spent $5029 today. My pocket is still burning.

Met IJ yesterday. i shall call her hermit-in-a-box. she likes to hide but she likes to spring surprises on you too. she likes to say things that stuns her companion momentarily to digest the bits of information. it sure hits you like a hurricane. but i love the chicken and i love the jasmine pearl tea. arigato. :)

and the spandex looking dress. kekekeke. super hot lah.

the past two days, i have been receiving high volume of calls at work. on random things. from silicon to dinners to macdonalds to anonymous senders to bedazzled flowers recipient to zookeeper. fooosh. and from certain individuals to check on my status and my absence from a certain place. that sure is funny.

when you watch the news, do you notice the clothes the anchorwoman is wearing? or do you listen to her more? how about make up? hairstyle? imagine sitting in front of the camera and be under scrutiny for such things. wadrobe and make up sponsor. not bad if you think about it.

Everbest at Suntec is having sale. i think for their exorbitant prices, now is the time for people like you and i to go buy them. Also Samsonite is having a sale at Tower Two atrium. I saw the price. not bad if you ask me. saw this nice bag, size is like the LV travel bag. 200 bucks. beat that.

Now’s not the time though. pay is going to go to buying mattress and chairs and curtain poles. Mum has kindly sponsored the curtain cloth. She is going to sponsor us the lace too. To top it off, she’s going to sew it for the house! :) i don’t think S knows the colour is deep red. but since I’m in-charge, i get to decide. kekeke. i like free stuff.

Do you know how to buy a mattress? there is super-firm, firm, medium-firm and soft. Those with back aches be aware. Many will suggest buying memory foam but those acts like clouds initially but then it doesn’t support the back. Firm is also too hard. So go for medium-firm. I think Slumberland is not bad but the prices are skyyyyy-hiiiggggggh. unless you have 3k to spend, then go to Slumberland. Dunlopillo not that bad, i think prices range between 1200-2888K? Simmons is considered to be the best with its independent over a thousand pocketed springs. The prices are also exorbitant….. Water bed is not recommendable. cause the body heat will warm the water and you will feel stifled thruought the night.

Try FourStar. :)

So when buying a mattress, make sure the springs are pocketed. Lie down on your back for 5-9 minutes. Roll around and ensure your shoulders and hips aren’t painful in this process. If it is, then the bed is probably too hard for you. When rolling and you literally have to ‘jump’, then the bed is too soft. If you have a partner, make him/her lie down next to you, you shouldn’t feel any interference at all. When he/she rolls around and gets out of the bed, you should not get any disturbance. :)

on top of all these, when lying down straight on your back, slid your hand down the small of your back. Your hand should slid in effortlessly following the contours of your body. if it slips in too easily, then the bed is too hard. if you are squeezing it till your elbow joints hurt, then the bed is too soft.

:) :) Go to Furniture mall, many shops selling mattresses.

This man i adore.

The weather’s so cold in the mountains, i could make ice cream on my bottom if someone poured water on them. i am in the process of uploading the pictures on shalyd. :) cannot wait. AA wants to see them before he jets off to his island resort for weeks. :( so jealous. imagine the tranquility. and the peacefulness. too many pictures. i thought we had 1000 over pictures. turns out, including underwater photos, close to 2500!

In Chile, a lake recently ‘vanished’. Many scientists blamed this on global warming. Basically a block of ice broke off, rolled off into the lake, creating a swell and then almost immediately draining the lake away causing a mini tsunami.

This isn’t the first time a lake ‘vanished’ in Chile, last year, a similar thing happened, this time, an ice block that acted as a ‘stopper’ melted away and caused the water to all drain out via the ‘cracks’. Just like what happens in a bath tub. This resulted in a winding snake-like crevices that were almost 10 storey high.

I think people are really not aware what global warming is capable. For instance when I dive, you see broken corals and discolouration. It’s almost tragic when you swim to another corner and see a burst of fresh colours greeting you. S and I enjoy diving and we want to do it for more years to come.

People need to be aware of their daily habits. It will not necessarily stop global warming but at least it will slow down the process.

For instance, S and I hardly take any plastic bags when we go out. I turn them away when I can, especially when we buy small things like magazines or a bottle of water or candies. I don’t see any need in it. When I drive, especially at night, I wind down the windows with the air-condition switched off. In fact, nowadays, when I sleep, I only switch on the air con for a mere fraction, say an hour or an hour and a half and then switching it off.

And I salute places that use recycled items, the cup sleeves at Starbucks, or the paper bags at Gloria’s Jeans.

Many species of animals have developed over the years due to this phenomenon. The reason we do not hear of it is simply because they have not been discovered yet. But estimations are climbing high.

Ok… enough about global warming for now, Sassy’s birthday is tomorrow, :) happy 17th birthday! Hiakhiakhiak. :P

Enjoy your trip to London and south france eventhough the air ticket could feed 14545567 African children for a whole month of Sundays. :P

I got 2 very nice text msgs from mum and dad. Thank you. :)

And no, I don’t want a motor car bed in my room. thank you very much.

A mini celebration in the office. I got a pink cake complete with a candle.

GG and I was made to take photos together.

Claps, photos and thanks.

Magazine’s out in print. I am going to sleep with it. I am going to eat with it. I am going to drive with it. I am going to sing to it. I am going to smell it the whole week. I am going to stare at it till my eyes go red. (in fact, it has turned red. I think I’m about to have sore eyes.)

Of course that will be short lived since my next copy is out in a couple of week’s time plus more magazines.

And off to Mumbai I go in 3 week’s time. Sigggghhhh……

I love my job.

Im on the roll to blog. Before I lose it, I should pen my thoughts down.

Work

Working from 9 to 6 pretty much drains your social life away. And when an issue is coming out, you can say bye bye to friends and family for 2 weeks. Mumbai 09th May, Tokyo 18th May and Shanghai 30th May. Good luck to that. Designing is so much fun. Layout and colors and theme. Of course, I cannot say much about editing articles. Not very fun if you ask me.

Jasmine Pearl Milk Tea

I have this insane obsession with jasmine pearl milk tea. And it doesn’t help that there is a pearl station at my work place. As have mentioned in the earlier entry, Tampines Mart is the best. I think the shop is called CuteBubble.

HomeDesign Magazines

Many many. Littering all over the place. So many concepts and looks and colours. We both finally settled on Suburban concept.

Furniture shopping

Countryhome, where are you now. Tsk. Manhatten so expensive. Picket&Rail actually looks good. The bookcase still in my head…..imagine the number of cookbooks I can put on it… kitchen oh kitchen….. cannot wait to cook in the new kitchen. Anyone have all-weather furniture to giveaway? J

Cookbooks

I bought so many!!! Like 6 to be exact. Harris at Suntec having clearance sale. And it also helps that PM works there and you can enjoy staff discounts!

Speech

Speech trainings are hard when you are being trained by unfamiliar figures. Trainings are also hard when you realize your speech has been altered by more than half essentially killing the author’s interpretations through words.

Life

I don’t think there are many definitive moments in one’s life. Most of the time it happens and people just let it pass right through them. Questions after questions will always be unanswered. But if you wait to do everything until you are sure it is right, you will probably never do much of anything. Many long for life to be free of difficulties and complications. They search hard and in the process pain those who love them. But be reminded that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are created under very strong pressure. Don’t turn 30 and then feel as if you have lost 3-4 years of your life unknowingly. This applies especially to females. I know many who have reached that stage and are like lost puppies. Flailing around. I don’t think it is a very nice feeling. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failures but risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

So, to all out there, get out there and take the plunge. You never know what you will discover.

On a random note, I want to make Guacamole.

It’s been a whole month of Sundays ever since I last wrote here.
