Journey

Today marks the end of another chapter in my book. :) It has been a roller coaster ride. I think it taught me one thing. never ever settle for something that is just ok. I think as a fresh graduate, i was very quick to jump on the nearest ship i see. Failing to realise there are mroe ships that will be coming your way. But of course i did not regret it. 2 issues, 3 issues coming out. Taught me about writer’s block. Taught me that sometimes you have to write what people want to read and not what you want to write about. Deadlines… copywriting… images…. quotes…. colour… layout….design…spelling mistakes…grammatical errors…

See thats why my blog is filled with spellinnngg/grammatical eerroos becuz i can do it without thousands of subscribers asking for a refund. :D ke ke ke.

I had fun and now moving on to a new page. :)

Cds.

I bought a couple of Cds during one of my walks in Suntec. There’s a new shop on the second  level.

High Society, their latest double joy CD. = interesting. Not for the masses. Very nice jazz singles. Perfect for parties with canapés and sparkling grape juice (halal) or bubbly champagne (non-halal). Your choice. No judgements.

Jason Mraz = BEST cd bought. EVER. I’ve been listening to the CD the whole of last week and burnt 5 cds for 5 different people. Best for drives along the sea with an open top car. The power of envisioning. Driving on expressway also can lah. :)

Leona Lewis = Slightly disappointed. Flow wasn’t nice. But it’s alright.

One Republic = Couple of pretty good songs in there.

Enough cds for 3 months.

BBQ at Jeff’s

Great night. :) I had fun. Laughed so much. Great food. Sushi, salmon, beef, chicken wings, nachos, salsa dip, guacamole dip, crabs, yuki’s famous egg sandwiches. LOVE IT.

Tons of fun. I really love bbq nights with them. :)

So much girl talk in one night. Woots. Thanks jean for the package. Let’s see the effects! and I miss baby Jayden! Baby Aurick didn’t come either. :(

Best line of the night, “Chrysanthemum flowers all over! With some small unidentified flowers! I was like, ‘ohkaaayyy who died.?’.”

That was the icing on the cake.

It’s so easy to think about love. To talk about love. To wish for love. But it is not always easy to recognize love. Even when we hold it…in our hands. – Jaka

Met Sheryl weeks ago! Brought her to Night&Day for drinks. :)

had dinner at Bakerzin at Suntec after work. Service sucks so horribly. Please don’t bother going.

The two of us were attempting so hard to get attention from the staff but to no avail.

and the tofu salad? tasted a tad weird. eeck.

A summary of things.

September 8, 2008

What a lovely weekend. :)

So many twists and turns. I had to like write a 3 pages worth of email to anak Johar.

I liked her comment, “how many modes are we using to communicate exactly?”

Heh. Many many lah. The more the merrier.

Chocs

ALWAYS check your bags for unexpected surprises. :( mum was telling me it’s not meant to be mine. Free stuff is ALWAYS meant to be mine! Bah humbug. Free loader. Try Rolls Royce chocs. I really like them. 14 bucks per box, doesn’t come cheap. Or you can casually saunter in like me and get their tasters. Try their mild cocoa and white chocolates. Or the Potechi! My fav. :)

DBS

Thanks for coming down all the way cikgu. Much appreciated. For the cake complete with a candle and for the presents. Really uncalled for lah. J And the Polaroid pictures. I LOVE Polaroid pictures. :)

I might just consider a career switch. ;)

Party

Ray’s party! I had fun cooking! :) :) so much fun! With work killing every happy cells that are left in my body cavity, I am very very happy someone injected the exact same amount of happy cells in me to put on back my apron! I roasted garlic with fresh coriander! Found this perfect garlic spread! Say bye bye to cheap processed garlic spread in the supermarkets.

Easy peasy.

Get a whole bulb of garlic, remove the outer skin layer. Keep the ones that hold the garlic. Lay it on a sheet of aluminum, drizzle generous amount of olive oil, dash salt, pepper and throw in fresh coriander. It would prove to be perfect if you have fresh thyme and/or rosemerry but I couldn’t find it at home. Hence, had to settle for fresh coriander. OR BASIL. Im sure basil would be A-Awesome. And if you like a dash of spicyness, then dash cayenne pepper. Ok, wrap the bulb with aluminum foil and pop it into the oven. Say 180 deg for 40 mins? Ok, do like 6 or 7 bulbs? Remove the garlics, let it cool down, then squeeze out all the flesh into a bowl and mix it. Add more pepper if needed. Add more olive oil before spreading it on warm, good quality breads! Those who are too lazy, it’s ok! Get the garlic out, serve it hot still in the aluminum foil and just serve your guests warm bread. :D LUV IT.

Thai vermicelli salad. Yum yum yum. I like. My fav. I think I showed the set of ingredients somewhere in my previous posts before.

Butter cookies

I want to make butter cookies next! And good good pasta. I want to make the pesto pasta and the garlic oil pasta. I have been reading so many cook books over the weekend! I WANT TO MAKE A STORM iN THE KITCHEN. Have I mentioned? I want a soup mill, an ice cream maker and a pasta machine. Oh, and of course the entire range of Le Creuset pots and pans. In cherry red. :( when will you be mine? Come home to mama….. :(

Perfumes galore!

On top of Chloe (which all of you should go buy right now), I got a gift from aunt. Gucci Rush Version 1. It’s ok though it gets a bit strong for me sometimes. But it’s very unique. Sassy got me a gift too! Dolce&Gabbana ‘s Light Blue. Thanks aunt and sassy! I LUV it. :)

Fam

Went out with Fam over the weekend. Great stuff! We had steak. Good steak I might add. And we shopped at Mustafa. Dad is funny. I love him. And mum is just classic. Siggghh…. fab fab day.

Sun

S and I went grocery shopping! And we lazed around at home with Shelly. :( I miss her. Can’t wait for tonight to hug her. Our baby. She’s so fat. I love love love her. S sends me pictures at work. Of her sleeping. Then I forward it to Rin. Because happy things ought to be shared.

OK. Work is horrible. As usual. I need to get my perspectives straightened out. If there is anyone out there who enjoys their work, can you please drop me an email? I think we need to have coffee. The world suddenly looks so bleak. And this happens e v e r y t I m e I talk about work. It is more pathetic then depressing if you ask me.

Weather’s so wet and cold lately. I want to eat the mooncake with the egg yolk in the middle. :(

Does anyone know how to make?

What we see… is mainly what we look for. – Anonymous.

Such loveliness i tell you. :)

On a cab one night, i was telling rin that this year feels strange. Fasting month, S having to look after monkeys and some other unspoken stuff.

It ended there and i never bothered to talk about D-day.

Didn’t even want to do anything.not because i was being sour but because what else is there to do? bbq? chalet? some god forsaken theme party? right? no.
