Blue Monday
January 19, 2009
Monday
Shakti just informed me today is Blue Monday. It is a name given to a stated date to be the most depressing day of the year by Sky Travel. This date typically falls on the Monday of the last full week of January.
And he’s right!
Was out of the house till 4 in the morning. Got home and decided to do spring cleaning. Can you believe it? I have no idea why. I cleaned the tables, threw away notes from 200BC and prepared my outfit for work. Had less than 2 hrs of sleep before being jolted by the stupid phone alarm.
And then, best part, DRIVING with the entire Singapore. What a fun drive. Really. There is nothing else I enjoy but to drive with the whole of Singapore. Fighting for space, honking at one another, getting idiots to swerve in your lane WITHOUT signaling. WHY NOT. Some of these drivers really left their courtesy and common sense in their mother’s wombs.
Oh, did I mention that before this I grazed the front of the car while getting out of a lot? I don’t know what’s the damage to that. I do not want to know. I shall pray and pray that come tomorrow, the scratch is gone.
Seriously acting up. they deleted some of my friends! Unless my ‘friends’ defriended me cause of the Burger King Campaign. hmmm….
Momoya
S and i tried Momoya, a unpretentious Japanese (a touch of fusion, french and chinese but just a tad) restaurant along Bedok, right behind Simpang Bedok.
There’s ala carte and buffet. Ifyou go for Buffet, it’s 30++ per person and you get to choose ANYTHING from the alacarte menu. The portions come in smaller sizes so you can try everything on it if tt suits your fancy.
S and i went for the buffet. Not bad lah. We got quite excited and ordered tons of stuff. But my stupid tummy was acting up and we had to leave with me in a forward bend position. So annoying.
service there’s GREAT! S and i were pleasantly surprised (take note Tapas Tree.)
The food isnt great but if you’re planning to spend 48 bucks at Tapas Tree for 2 dishes, then i suggest you just head down to Momoya and stuff yourself silly.
Equinox Food Voucher
Sighh….. i have food voucher but no time to go. this is saddening…..
ok. i shall go for lunch and make myself happy for a while with food.
Hope the Blue Monday is not affecting you guys so much!

Defining who we are
It changes as we grow up. There is no definition to this. We evolve with time. Be flexible, don’t make this the ultimate goal in life. BREATHE. Life still goes on if you don’t know who you are. Or if people around you do not comprehend you. It is ok. If everybody is busy trying to define themselves and those around them, what fun is there to life? Enjoy each other’s company. Take your time in learning your strengths, weaknesses, what you like, what you do not like, you have your whole life to know you! Go slow but be smart. You do not have to make self-destructive decisions to learn more about yourself. Just like how you do not need to cut yourself with a knife to know it’s going to hurt you.
Always remember that all the intelligence you have garnered over the course of your education years do not weigh who you are.
As Isrin told me yesterday:
“ It’s not our abilities that show us what we truly are; it’s our choices.” – Professor Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Money Woes
Bye bye travel escapades in 2009.
So much for wanting to go to Bali. For that matter, diving. -.-
Sigh, took time off yesterday to work out budgets. I tell you, why is getting married SO SO expensive? Seriously.
Whose grand idea is it to make people get married then be bankrupt after that? Do not understand.
S$938 per table?? Come on. That is just exorbitant. After the many many tables, ill be legless, armless and prolly headless after you throw in the photography costs.
Citibank even has wedding loans! (for couple’s dream wedding. -.-)
Yah right, and then be plagued with debts after that. In the words of S, “such bad fengshui.”
Do you know, ideally, they say you should plan the wedding 18 months in advance? Oh, and I heard brides will lose weight. From all those plannings.
Ha ha ha ha, you know what that sounds like to me?
For future brides, do up all costing on Excel Sheet…… store all in tabs (guests list, wedding peripherals, wedding gifts, wedding ideas….websites….addresses….) Oh and have a folder also.. to store like little notes, or receipts… or pull outs from magazines… I should totally sell my Wedding Excel Budget/Planning Sheet Template after this. Excel is magic man. Don’t even need calculator! How awesome is that?
Of course I’m scared. The money needed is like woah.
But you know what they say……….
“ Fear is finding fault with the future. If only we could keep in mind of how uncertain our future is, then we would never try to predict what could go wrong. Fear ends there.” – Anonymous.
Where are u money tree?
Gaza War

“If we cannot live entirely like human beings, at least let us do everything in our power not to live entirely like animals.” – Anonymous.
Over a breakfast conversation with Sassy, we spoke abuot the war and how it has been ongoing for a very very long time.
Mum said the war will never end. and sadly, according to the holy Qur’an, that is true.
The children always gets it worst. I think it’s not that the palestinians have an issue with the jews, they just have an issue with Isreal not giving the land to them. which up till now, after reading so many articles, i still do not know why Isreal refuses to give that strip up. why?
There is an unbalance of safety, comfort and wealth in this world. Mother Earth has enough resources be it food or shelter to go around everywhere. The problem is the rich have excess and the poor have none.
“Oppression leads people to do unimaginable things because they have got nothing to lose” – Erny Lee Ismail.

January 4, 2009

We drove along this little lane after going to Far East Flora. awesome place!
fresh flowers from all over the world! although you should be equipped with a thick jacket no less if you’re planning to saunter around the cold room for hours picking your flowers.
Cause S and I literally dashed through the room!
conversation goes like this:
“wah! darling! see! ros….eh! tul……wa… lil……”
super duper cold.
but super pretty flowers.
shall bring mummy there one day.
