i added a new table at my work space! so guess who has more surface area for nonsense?
spent the time on Monday to shift stuff and wipe down the table with wet wipes. i used up 2 packs! the amount of dust and dirt is insane. i also cleaned my magazine rack. dumped all those unwanted/unread magazines into the store. so my rack now looks so much neater.
oh oh, see those files? i spent my Wednesday filing at home. the joy of filing. i LOVE filing! i remembered in secondary school when the time came for teachers to check our files to ensure every single sheet of paper is inside, i would readily volunteer to do Charlene’s whilst she practiced her pirouettes in her room. ha ha ha. complete with the punched hole protector! and that takes up alot of time those little sticky circles i tell ya.
i am happy.

Mediacorp Festival event last Thurday at Ritz Carlton.
Awesome food i tell you. i was busy covering ever inch of the buffet table.
I dont follow Singapore Idol no thanks to my punishing schedule but i saw them that day and there’s one pretty Malay boy. He obviously looks young enough to be my brother but that sure didnt stop me from staring. ha ha ha ha.
so i begged Cheri to park ourselves near him but the paparazzi got the better of me and i decided food was more worthwhile than that.
i like how the stars attempted to mingle with the stars. unlike some of the other media events i’ve been to ( not many cause really i get too lazy sometimes which is not good for networking. hmmmm….).
Zoe Tay looks so good in real life. i dont think she goes through the ageing process if you ask me.
The Polo Boys were there. One of them’s oh so cute but i dont know his name. and my mouth’s too full with food for me to ask for a picture taken.
Kumar was also there although i missed his act.
Heard Michelle Chong was imitating Boomz girl. heh. obviously i missed that too.
at 5pm one of the mediacorp guy texted me:
“eh, sis, which row are you at?”
“what row ah? office row lor. the first table. can see? the one with the computer.”
“HAH!?!?@?! still at work!?!?!?! COME! you’re putting your invite to waste!”
“BO PIAN. simi. give me 15 mins. i cab down”
ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Nizar’s leaving us.
Nizar is my IT hero. and the only other coloured person in the office. pfffttt.. now noone else is left for me to use my melayu koyak anymore. meh.
looking at this pic, im so happy i listened to mum and got the three tiered Bvlgari ring. I was contemplating on getting the 4-tiered one but that cost a cool SGD 1,950 and im like woah, i can get myself to freaking Maldives with that money. 3-tiered one cost SGD 1,530. so for an additional tier, you pay like 320 bucks more? where’s the sense in that?
but in any case, the 3-tier one looks just nice on my finger actually. not too vulgar. me likey.
speaking of which, mum was parading in the house with her new yellow rock dad bought for her for their anniversary. hah. complete with a bouquet of roses. i envy their marriage sometimes.

Impossible is nothing.
did you feel the tremors the other day? It was super scary. we’re on the 36th floor so it was quite apparent. chairs were rolling around and my cat painting on the wall was swaying.
the secretary was trying to get everyone to leave the building but i had to reply emails so i didnt quite move.
which wasn’t very smart cause my head was spinning after and i had to leave work early to go and sleep.
Met with Dee after at One Rochester.
Funny incident:
“Did you feel the tremors earlier?”
“*excitedly* yeah!!! i thought it was my phone!(in my head i was thinking, phone vibrations? cant be what. the tremors were so hard! but i let it slide.) so i didnt say anything! i thought it was just me!”
“yah!!!! i thought it was just me too initially! i thought it was from staring at the computer screen too long!”
“huh? what? when? at work? i thought you mean just now at one rochester!”
“ohkaaaaaayyyyy. i think that one just you.”
“hahahahah, and no!! i didnt feel anything at work earlier!!”
classic.

Sandy’s boss took this cow off one of the grass patch, took it to their office and i got quite amused by the story.
He proceeded to email the picture along with a superimposed chains around the cow’s legs to Moove’s boss and told him we’ve clamped the cow for illegal parking.
it was all too cute.
im more tickled by the fact he carried this colourful cow from the grass all the way to the building and into the lift! all in full view of the crowd.
if he’s local i guess he can blend in smartly into the crowd. but he’s this big white guy!
wished i was there to snap!
guess who had too much a drop?

Met with the boys at Clarke Quay after. If you have not tried. Indochine’s vegetarian spring rolls are to die for.
i love it.
Marc looks so happy these days. then again, i would think anyone who just got back from an 8 days trip to South France with their gf would be too.
Supposed to leave at midnight but bumped into a client who dragged me to Dempsey and had to be entertained till 3 in the morning.
So no surprises for guessing who had the mother of all migraines this morning.
Had a frantic call from my client at 9 in the morning.
“Lydia!!!! my ad is not in Straits Times!! Did you book it in!?!?!?!!?”
“*groggy**head pain**her voice was tearing my poor head apart* ugghghdsfiugdsfoidfgh *incoherent mumbling*”
“was that english?”
“hey Judy (fictitious name), let me give you a call back in half ok.”
i had to drag my poor soul out of bed to browse through the papers. i have to admit, i was slightly panicky because i remembered the ad was to appear today. but with the super migraine i was having, i couldn’t think straight.
anyways, i found the ad. it was all good.
Dropped her a text and she went, “Sorry for disturbing your sat morning! thanks! have a great weekend!”
ahhh, but that was enough to make me smile.
watched abit of criminal minds. contemplated on going to work. figured ill stay in and drown myself with criminal minds and go to work tomorrow instead.
but the deadlines were tugging at my conscience. so i dutifully trudged myself to the office to get some work done.
dont feel too accomplished really. My Monday is super screwed.
I can picture my client’s to do list every other day:
1) Chase Lydia
Action Points:
a) Send Lydia email-chaser
b) Send Lydia sms-chaser
c) Call Lydia’s DID (if no one picks up, it will be directed to her mobile)
d) Call Lydia Mobile (in addition to c)
e) email her personal mail (in sync with her BB)
f) once connection’s established, ask her to swing by the office immediately to discuss pending projects.
and i kid you not. it’s quite comical having all my modes of communication conquered by my clients.
i had one calling me at midnight yesterday!
i love each and every one of them. they make me laugh.
although im sure some of them want to kill me pretty badly for dragging deadlines.
klah, it’s already 520am, gonna crash and wake up early to explore the new park behind our apartments.
hope your Saturday was more eventful than mine!
